One thing that has never sat well with me nor made any sense as I was growing up was regarding the relationship between the Democrat Party and the black-American Community. How can it be that the political party that is said to have freed Blacks in America from bondage and slavery, and protected it from segregationist policies, the Republican Party, to now be the Party that is hated and denounced by the black-American community today?
Don’t look now, but the latest version of “the People’s President”, Donald J. Trump, maybe the last great United States’ president. How many of you would be surprised to know that real black American history includes a black American woman who fought against the constitutionality of slavery in the state of Massachusetts’ Supreme Court … in 1781 … and won? How many of you would be surprised to learn that Thurgood Marshall was not the first black American nominated Justice to the U.S Supreme Court … the same year the war between the states ended? Or how many of you would be stunned to know that the first blacks elected to the U.S Congress after the was between the states were 7 Republicans … from the south?

As the U.S government teeters on the verge of another “partial shutdown”, just before Christmas, seemingly over the issue of whether the government should do everything legally possible to deter, restrict, restrain, and prohibit people from entering our country without permission nor authorization – even if it means building a physical wall on the borders. Let that concept marinate in your mind for a tic and tell me if that is not the most ridiculous question ever posed to a supposed sovereign country.
