Last month, the Democrat-led House judiciary subcommittee held hearings to examine the legacy of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and its continuing impact on the community and the path to restorative justice.  The date interestingly coincided with the cultural holiday commemorating the emancipation of black slaves in America, as reported in thegaurdian.com.

For me, the fact that it is the Democrats who were initiating this hearing and drive for reparations immediately ensures that this is not going anywhere near honest fact and truth.  It would be like the arsonist impaneling a board to investigate the burning of the building that he set ablaze.  You can be guaranteed that no matter the conclusion, his fingerprints won’t be found.  But, it is good theater.

Being someone who loves to know what the true definition of words are that people are using as the foundation of their position, let’s look at the word reparations.  According to Webster’s Dictionary 1st Ed., reparations is “the act of repairing; restoration to soundness or a good state. Ok, that sounds good.  Now, the next step that should be taken is to logically identify who were the slaves to whom we are to restore to a good state.  And this is where logical discussions get shot to the moon for the proponents of reparations.  Lets put aside the fact that all of the black people who were supposedly slaves during the 17th and 18th Century are more than likely no longer around.  But, who were the actual slaves?  In order to apply proper reparations wouldn’t you want to be sure that it is applied to the right person or people?

Let’s look at what Paul L. Williams, Ph.D. said in the politicalvelcraft.org in 2011. Mr. Williams wrote, “The first black slaves arrived in America in the early years of the 17th Century…At the time of the ratification of the Constitution in 1788, there were less than 50,000 slaves in America – – and the vast majority of them were white….Throughout the colonial period, white slaves remained the main labour force on the Virginia and Maryland plantations, outnumbering so-called Africans by as many as four to one…Whites remained slaves until the Emancipation Proclamation.” [emphasis added]  So, are we seeking to include these slaves in the reparations scheme?  These people too were part of the American Slave Trade Era.

And if we are seeking to do the right thing to restore these victims of history’s past atrocity, those who perpetrated the heinous act needs to have the light of justice shined on them too, right?  This should be done if for no other reason than to bring clarity to the picture as a whole.  Of course, popular notion drives us to look at the White population.  But, a slightly deeper inquisitive view brings up more culprits.  Have you heard that there were actually free blacks who owned whites, as well as other blacks, as slaves? According to theroot.com, “free black people could even “own” the services of white indentured servants in Virginia as well. Free blacks owned slaves in Boston by 1724 and in Connecticut by 1783; by 1790, 48 black people in Maryland owned 143 slaves.”  Ever since Anthony Johnson and his wife Mary obtained the services of their indentured servant, a black man, John Castor … for life in Virginia due to a court decision in 1654. The report states that blacks have always owned slaves in America.  The article goes on to say that, “In 1830 … about 13.7 percent (319,599) of the black population was free. Of these, 3,776 free Negroes owned 12,907 slaves, out of a total of 2,009,043 slaves owned in the entire United States.”  Interestingly, the article states that most of the free blacks in the south had the most slaves.  Now how can this be spun into today’s racial political narrative?  Give me a tic. There must be a way….

To date, only one bill demanding slavery reparations has ever been proposed in the U.S Congress, though unsuccessfully, “The Commission to Study Reparation Proposals for African Americans Act,” through 1989-2017,  authored by former Dem. Rep. John Conyers Jr.  It was to study the “impact of slavery on the social, political and economic life of our nation”.  Again, the fact that a democrat was pushing this bill is more than a sign of that there’s a skunk a lose in the perfume room.

To honestly study the reverberating impact of the slave era, particularly on blacks in America, one has to start at the so-called “Reconstruction Period”, after the Southern Confederacy was defeated by the Union Army.  Let’s look at how the Democrat Party sought to stem the tide of the Republican’s takeover of the Legislatures of the South by establishing the Ku Klux Klan.  Since in many southern States, the black population surpassed that of the Caucasian. Nearly 100% of the newly freed blacks, along with the already free ones, were voting for the party of Lincoln in lockstep and electing black Republicans into the Legislatures of once democrat strong States in historic numbers.  The Klan was the Dems covert militia was created in 1866 to nip the Republican wave in the bud … and quickly.  Between 1882-1964 an estimated 3,446 blacks were lynched by the Klan; An underreported fact, 1,279 that were lynched were Caucasian too. This was about political and economic survival, not race.  And also let’s not forget the other tools of outright schemes to drastically keep blacks from voting, such as Poll Taxes, literacy test, restrictive registration policies,  establishing “White Only Primaries”, and if none of those tools worked, they’d just killed blacks.

So please forgive me when I hear or see Democrat candidates today vociferously champion reparations such as, Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren that include $100 billion in financial compensation and attempt to appear to be the black American’s BFF.  I am more than suspect of their true motives and very angry at the Media’s complicitness in not bringing any of this not to hard to find history out to the populace.  The reason none of the Democrats reparation initiatives are nothing more than PR opportunities is because, just as with the arsonist attempting to create a situation that he’s the hero of a crime that he himself acted in, real historical facts stand in the way that uncovers the truth.

The Democrats motives are the same today as they were in the 1700s in regards to the black Americans, and that is to keep us in bondage – if not physically, then mentally.  Their proposed $100 billion offerings that is included in the reparations package is paltry when compared to the estimated $1.5 TRILLION that currently flows through the black American community annually.  And that amount is AFTER taxes.  If the Democrat Party genuinely wanted to be the black Americans BFF and restore us to a good state they could just tell the truth of their part in the current situation of black America. But, that would be too much like right.

Even if the majority of Americans are unaware of the Democrat’s atrocious offenses against blacks in America and the Slave Era, and the aftermath, the aftershocks of their crimes will continue to impact this nation until the day that their deeds are placed into full view and the charade of their innocence has had its final curtain call.  Only then will there be true conclusive justice given to those forefathers and history.
